I am a passionate storyteller, committed to uncovering new insights and thinking beyond the current narrative. As a polling analyst at Data for Progress, I strive to understand the thoughts and perspectives of people, and I strategize the most effective ways to communicate significant societal and political issues. I am also dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in sports through my podcast, The Kirby Phares Show, where I explore and elevate the stories that matter and deserve to be heard.

August 2021 - Present
Senior Analyst

  • Manage all aspects of client relationships part of a portfolio of projects with a combined worth of $600,000.

  • Develop, field, and create weighting schemes for surveys on a national and state level and in complex geographies.

  • Designed a bespoke open-end question analysis script used company-wide, expanding the organization’s open-end analysis capacity and ability to provide statical and systematic text analysis.

  • Create decks and hold briefings for key stakeholders and summarize polling results to broad audiences.

  • Planned and executed Data for Progress’ Pride Month Polling report that generated media hits in USA Today, The Advocate, The Hill, and more.

Mapping Police Violence

October 2020 – June 2021

  • Gathered data that contributes to a comprehensive database on police killings nationwide to quantify the impact of police violence.

  • Produced visualization for Mapping Police Violence website and social media to communicate the extent of racial issues and the severe impact of police violence on the Black community.

  • Wrote scripts to analyze and interpret data for the organization’s Police Violence Report and the Police Scorecard Project.

Dartmouth College Digital Humanities Lab

Researcher, PI: Professor Jacqueline Wernimont
June 2019 – June 2021

  • Researched the history of forced sterilization in America during the twentieth century to create an accessible collection of historical records and media assets.

  • Used R to analyze the medical record data of 20,000 individuals and create interactive data visualizations to be published on project website.

Hanover High School

Athletics Department Intern
September 2018 – June 2019

  • Analyzed trends in End of Season player response data and identified strengths and weaknesses in coaching, leadership structure, and communication methods of the Athletics Department.

  • Digitalized the department’s archives and restructured department’s data collection of player, parent, and coach feedback from physical forms to an efficient and easily accessible online interface.
